After DATE 2012 in Dresden closed doors last Friday, the feedback of the conference attendees, exhibition visitors and exhibitors as well as the attendance was very pleasing and motivating. DATE’s concept of choosing the vibrant European clusters Grenoble and Dresden as venues again proved to be a major success. Among the highlights were the two keynotes from Klaus Meder, President of the Automotive Electronics Division of Bosch, and Mojy Chian, Senior Vice President Design Enablement of GLOBALFOUNDRIES, the two special focus days on E-Mobility and More than Moore, the executive track and the keynote by Max Lemke, Deputy Head of Unit Embedded Systems & Control, EC.
Registration numbers indicate that DATE 2012, which opens doors on March 12 in Dresden, will be of outstanding attractiveness for conference delegates as well as for exhibition visitors. With E-Mobility and More-than-Moore the conference program will highlight domains with crucial impact on the future society and on the essential industry sectors in Europe in two Special Days. In the again growing exhibition the visitors will benefit from a three-day-program of panels, hot-topic-sessions, testimonials and tutorials in the Exhibition Theatre as well as from the full ecosystems of Silicon Saxony and GLOBALFOUNDRIES being showcased. Keynotes from Bosch’s Klaus Meder and GLOBALFOUNDRIES’ Mojy Chain will analyze the future of automotive and semiconductor business, Monday tutorials and Friday workshops will complete the DATE week to a unique event.
The premier EDA conference in Europe – many say, in the world – will be in Dresden this year, starting March 12th. There’s a certain something about DATE, a unique quality and consistent energy that runs throughout this conference that really sets it apart, whether in Nice, Munich, Grenoble, or Dresden.
Now in its 15th edition, Design, Automation & Test in Europe seems to get better with each passing year – more refined, focused, and confident, and more unabashedly academic, while still offering a rich experience for exhibitors wanting to showcase their latest and greatest.
The full technical programme for DATE 2012, the major global event in Europe which will again push innovation in the worldwide electronics industry, is now available at: www.date-conference.com.
The DATE 2012 program is clearly focused on industrial and academic needs. It consists of 56 technical sessions and around 200 papers, plus an executive track featuring 3 sessions with industry-leading executives. The program is completed by Tutorials given by world market-leaders and key scientists.
DATE2012 again was able to continue with the very high number of submissions for its conference, thus further strengthening its worldwide leadership. "With 950 submissions we even exceeded the very good level of DATE 2011" says DATE`s General Chair Professor Wolfgang Rosenstiel. "This shows that DATE has established a sustained success story with its concept of choosing the key European semiconductor sites of Grenoble in 2011 and of Dresden in 2010 and again in 2012 as DATE venues," Professor Lothar Thiele, Program Chair of DATE 2012, adds: "The boost in submissions by 37% and 18% in the Embedded Systems Software and the Applications Track reflects the key importance of software and applications for a wealthy economy and underlines the leading role of DATE in these increasingly important fields."
