DATE seeks submissions of original, unpublished scientific work in one of its four tracks (D, A, T, and E) and 28 topics; for a full track and topic list, see Tracks and Topics list.
Scientific papers can be submitted for either (1) formal oral presentation or for (2) interactive presentation. Oral presentations are given in 30-minute ("long") or 15-minute ("short") slots in the conference program in front of an audience, and require novel and complete research work supported by experimental results. All manuscripts must be submitted for review electronically. The only accepted file format is PDF. Any other format and manuscripts received in hard-copy form will not be processed. Manuscripts for Oral Presentation should not exceed six (6) pages in length. To permit blind review, manuscripts should not include the author names nor affiliations. All manuscripts should be formatted as close as possible to the final format: A4 or letter pages, double column, single spaced, Times or equivalent font of minimum 10pt. Scientific Papers for Interactive Presentations will be included in the conference proceedings. Moreover, a "Best Interactive Presentation Award" will be given.

Special Sessions can take the form of (1) Panels discussing visionary and/or controversial issues, (2) Hot-Topic Sessions, dealing with the introduction and discussion of new R&D problems, and (3) Embedded Tutorial Sessions, addressing trends in the technical domains that are of interest to the conference participants. Special attention and consideration will be given to Special Sessions proposals matching DATE 2016 technical programme and exhibition campus focus: 5G wireless networks, 3D-IC integration, automotive systems, FD-SOI, IoT, and systems security.
Special Session proposals consist of an extended summary of up to 1500 words as PDF file, describing the session content and format, and must be submitted via the website by Sunday, 13 September 2015 23:59:59 CET.

The submitter of a submitted Special Session proposal will be notified of acceptance or rejection of his/her proposal by Friday, 06 November 2015. In case of acceptance, contributors of accepted Special Sessions will be asked to submit final texts or statements of panelists, as appropriate, for publication in the Proceedings as final, camera-ready manuscripts by Friday, 27 November 2015. Panel sessions are entitled to one page per panelist in the Proceedings, Hot-Topic Sessions are allocated a maximum of six (6) pages per speaker, whereas Embedded Tutorials are allocated one single paper for the entire session which should not exceed ten (10) pages.
For these final, camera-ready manuscripts, the only accepted file format is PDF. The Special Session Co-Chairs may decline the publication of the final manuscripts in the DATE Proceedings if the above responsibility is not fulfilled.

On the first day, half-day technical tutorials on selected topics will be given by leading experts in their respective fields. The proposal should motivate the topic and its relevance for both academia and industry, describe the target audience (who? how many? match with typical DATE audience?), the reason for a tutorial (why a tutorial, why now), tutorial objectives, and a clear planning hereto (tutorial outline and speakers, what will be done to attract the audience). Proposals should be submitted before Sunday, 13 September 2015 23:59:59 CET via the DATE website.

The PhD forum is part of the DATE Conference and hosted by the European Design Automation Association (EDAA), the ACM Special Interest Group on Design Automation (SIGDA), and the IEEE Council on Electronic Design Automation (CEDA). The forum is a great opportunity for PhD students to present their work to a broad audience in the system design and design automation community from both industry and academia. The forum may also help students to establish contacts for entering the job market. In addition, representatives from industry and academia get a glance of state-of-the-art in system design and design automation.
