1. Format and name your file following the instructions on the DATE website. Please do not include page numbers in your file.
- Format your paper to US letter size (8 ½ by 11 inches), NOT A4 settings.
- DO NOT include page numbers.
- PLEASE ADD the following copyright notice to your paper. It should go at the bottom of the left column, first page only: 978-3-9810801-8-6/DATE12/©2012 EDAA
- Use of color may enhance your figures and is encouraged
Your file must also meet the IEEE requirements. IEEE Templates are provided for Microsoft Word and LaTex files at www.ieee.org/web/publications/pubservices/confpub/AuthorTools/conferenceTemplates.html [2]. For more information see format.pdf [3].
2. Your file MUST be sent to IEEE PDF eXpress PLUS to ensure that it meets the IEEE requirements for embedded and subset fonts. IEEE PDF eXpress PLUS is the only way to submit papers. IEEE PDF eXpress PLUS is a free service to IEEE conferences, allowing their authors to make IEEE Xplore-compatible PDFs (Conversion function) or to check PDFs that authors have made themselves for IEEE Xplore compatibility (PDF Check function). You may send your source file to IEEE PDF eXpress PLUS for conversion into acceptable PDF (recommended) or, if you are confident your file is compliant, you may send your final PDF file to IEEE PDF eXpress PLUS for confirmation.
Authors will need to create an account and supply their own password as a new user with the Conference ID "date12xp" on IEEE PDF eXpress PLUS.
To upload your PDF file for submission to DATE, click on the "Approve for collection" link on your PDF eXpress Plus page. You will have the opportunity to rename your file according to the DATE naming convention before you "submit" your file.

3. For each conference paper, click "Create New Title".
4. Enter identifying text for the paper (title is recommended but not required).
5. Click "Submit PDF for Checking" or "Submit Source Files for Conversion".
6. Indicate platform, source file type (if applicable), click Browse and navigate to file, and click "Upload File". You will receive online and email confirmation of successful upload.
7. You will receive an email with your Checked PDF or IEEE PDF eXpress Plus-converted PDF attached. If you submitted a PDF for Checking, the email will show if your file passed or failed.

If the PDF submitted fails the PDF check:
Option 1: Submit your source file for conversion by clicking Try again, then Submit Source Files for Conversion
Option 2: Read the PDF Check report, then click "The PDF Check Report" in the sidebar to get information on possible solutions
Option 3: "Request Technical Help" through your account
If you are not satisfied with the IEEE PDF eXpress Plus-converted PDF:
Option 1: Resubmit your source file with corrections (Try again, then Submit Source Files for Conversion)
Option 2: Submit a PDF by clicking Try again, then Submit PDF for Checking
Option 3: "Request a Manual Conversion" through your account
If the PDF submitted passed the PDF Check, or you are satisfied with your IEEE PDF eXpress Plus-converted PDF:
Option 1: Log back into your PDF eXpress Plus account and approve your PDF for collection.
